Urban lighting: light towers, street, decorative and park lamp posts
A short guide to choosing lamp posts and light towers for streets, boulevards, parks and squares, and what Karmania builds for each.

Lighting does more than anything else for how safe and attractive a public space feels at night. But "lamp post" is not one product. It is a family, and each member is built for a job. This post walks through the four main lighting groups Karmania makes.
Light towers
Light towers are for squares, large car parks, terminals and sports grounds, anywhere a wide area must be lit from a single point. They are galvanized polygonal structures with a mounting plate for several floodlights and, on taller models, a lowering system so the lights can be serviced from the ground.
Street lamp posts
Street posts are designed for roads and highways: taller, with a single or double arm, and a hot-dip galvanized structure that resists wind and corrosion. Height and arm length follow from the road width and the spacing between posts.
Decorative lamp posts
Boulevards, pedestrian streets and historic districts need a post that is itself an urban element. Karmania's decorative posts come in classic and modern forms, single and multi-arm, with custom colours.
Park lamp posts
Park posts are shorter and spread a softer light at human height. They suit footpaths, green space and the grounds of complexes, and are often ordered together with benches and bins from the same design family.
Choosing well
- Road width and post spacing set the height and arm
- Site conditions decide the finish: hot-dip galvanizing, powder coating or both
- The surroundings decide between a plain and a decorative post
- The luminaire is chosen separately; we deliver posts with or without it
All of these groups are in the products section with dimensions and colours. If you are not sure which suits your project, every product page has a quote request button and the sales team will prepare a proposal for you.
